ANDY WARHOL
Before Andy Warhol was a world-famous pop artist, he worked as a freelance advertisement illustrator, sketching images of women's clothing, shoes and jewelry.
His beginnings as a product marketer heavily influenced his artistic career, in which he glamorized and transformed everyday objects, like soup cans and cleaning supplies, into works of art. So in the 1980's when Feldman Fine Arts commissioned Warhol to create his "ADS" series, Warhol was in his element. The Chanel No. 5 bottle is one out of the ADS series that is especially close to Warhol's past as an ad illustrator.COCO CHANEL
Gabrielle Bonheur (Coco) Chanel was a French fashion designer and founder of the Chanel brand. The Chanel No 5 bottle was designed to resemble a whisky decanter. The scent, imbued with jasmine, rose, sandalwood and vanilla, was an instant success, partly due to some of Coco's ingenious marketing tricks.
"It was what I was waiting for. A perfume like nothing else. A woman's perfume, with the scent of a woman." - Chanel
