Born in the inland county of Meath in Ireland, Imelda was captivated by the sea from the first time she saw it. In 1972 she and her husband moved to the quaint fishing village of Skerries in Co Dublin where they raised their two children before moving to Melbourne in 1983. It was in Skerries that Imelda developed her love of the sea and the beach. The power of the ocean and it's ever-changing moods fascinated her. In particular, she was fascinated by wave movement. Calm and serene one moment, powerful and invigorating the next - the sea never ceases to amaze.
After a career in Melbourne that spanned 22 years working in film distribution, Imelda retired and took up her lifetime wish to paint. In particular she loves to depict the sea, in all it's moods, in her paintings but also enjoys painting landscapes. In between family gatherings and watching her 6 grandchildren develop and grow Imelda spends as much time as possible at her easel.
