Lara Bardsley - Patterns in the Sand

This abstract landscape depicts the spirit of the central Australian desert where I resided for a time during my PhD investigation of stories of place and belonging. I received training from an indigenous artist and with her permission explored the symbolic patterns we created in the sand, which formed the inspiration for this artwork. The edges of this piece are covered in gold leaf. It can be hung horizontally or vertically.
